Greek American preschool Christmas celebration

We read a Christmas story . We created gingerbread men. I bought the package from michaels but used my own white frosting. Next we sang Ta Kalanda with our instruments. I purchased green styrofoam cones then we placed gumdrops on the end of a toothpick. After that we placed our toothpicks into the styrofoam. Voila! Our ελατο. There was also a visit from Agios Nikolaos. Most of the kids were afraid of him except for my Yiannis. Lets see what happens next year.

Philoptochos dance

On December 17 the philoptochos at st Paraskevi church had their fundraiser. There was a cover band called the chiclettes and Greek music. We had a blast and love supporting our Philoptochos.

Gingerbread houses with Despinis Sophia

Ta Psarakia 5 year old class made gingerbread σπίτια with Despinis Sophia! The class loved it.

Little Angels star project

In Little Angels we read a book about the birth of Jesus Christ and then made a star magnet. We glued Popsicle sticks in a star shape, painted it yellow , and then put glitter on it. After it dried we put a self stick magnet on the back. Great lesson.

Hurricane Sandy and Our First Snowstorm

Well since the Hurricane left my home powerless for 2 weeks I was off to my sisters home who has an automatic generator attached to her gas line. Had all the kids doing mathima daily.

Little Angels Meeting Today

Today's Little Angels Meeting was so nice.  Callie prepared a Thanksgiving craft that all of the children  made.  Father Dimitri came and spoke to the children about being thankful.  We celebrated one of our Angels birthdays too!  Fun Fun !
