On The First Day of School by Joanne Karipidis Kefalas
This a is a story about Dean and George Carris' first day of school. They are getting reading and Dean who is the older brother is very nervous , yet George who is going into Kindergarten is not. The book also displays a typical Greek family. Traditionally grandparents live with their children. It displays the connection of grandparents and grandchildren. Cute story. Great read aloud and great text for beginner readers.
On the First Day of School by Joanne Karipidis Kefalas
We'll, my book is in the process of being published! I'm so excited. My children's books are stories of my childhood!
I taught remedial reading in the Long Island public school system for many years, so my children's books encompass repetitive text, easy language, life lessons and Greek culture. I feel that many children can relate to my stories and enjoy the Greek touch! Here are some pics.
